For the penultimate game of the first round series, Athlone travelled to Moate to take on the All Whites. In a game, played on a most unsuitable surface, Athlone proved far too strong for the host team and ran out convincing winners on the night. This game gave some of the younger squad members an opportunity to display their skills and one or two of the substitutes will be challenging for first team places soon.
