TSB League

Athlone played host to Clan na nGael in the opening round of the TSB League on Friday last when both sides met at U-10 and U-12 level. The U-14 encounter proved to be a onesided affair, with a strong Clan team easily accounting for an understrength Athlone side.

The U-12 clash was a closer game with Clan, having won the toss, electing to play with the wind and by halftime they had built up a big lead on the scoreline of 2-6 to 0-1.To their credit the Athlone lads rallied well in the second half and by the final whistle there was not much more than a kick of a ball between the sides. Final score: Clan na nGael 3-6 Athlone 1-7.
