Minor Championship

Athlone made the short trip to Mount Temple on Friday evening, last, where they met Clann Bronin. A slow start, helped by some notable absentees, left Athlone trailing badly at half time by eleven points. A spirited restart saw Athlone score four unanswered points but the damage had been done in the first period. Try as they might, Athlone could not make up sufficient ground on this powerful combination side, who ran out eventual winners by nine points. For the uninitiated, Clann Braonain is comprised of three clubs, namely Milltownpass, Tyrrellspass and Rochfordbridge.

Athlone 1.15, Kilucan 1.03

Athlone played hosts to Kilucan in division 2 of the league on Saturday last. Athlone always looked in control throughout with good performances from David Prendergast, Paul Bannon, Stephen Hahessy and John Molloy who scored 5 first half points.

U-12 Update

We played a friendly against Padraig Pearses on Friday last, which resulted in a one goal win for the Roscommon outfit. This proved to be a most useful workout, despite the fact that both sides were short a number of regulars. Our thanks to Pearses, for making the visit. Our next training session will take place on Wednesday(today) at 7.00pm.
