FOOTBALL:

Well done to our senior footballers who have progressed to the semi-final of this years’ championship following their fine win over the Downs in Cusack Park last Sunday evening. Well done alo to Southern Gaels on winning the 2000 Junior league title.

ALL-IRELAND:

Westmeath may not have qualified for the All-Ireland but they can take some solace from Meath’s fine win last Sunday. Once again they were managed by Sean Boylan whose mother hails from Athlone.
